After a short introduction by Martine Holtkamp, Managing Director RHP, she updated the group on the latest developments in the field of sustainability.
Subsequently, Hans Verhagen, Head of Research, explained the quality basics of peat and talked about setting pH and the consequences in practice.
Peat bog management was discussed with the participants by Marco Zevenhoven, Operational Director RHP. Technical advisor Gerrit Wever gave more explanation on human pathogens in growing media.
Then, Marco Zevenhoven discussed fungi development in relation to the temperature in peat storage. Hans Verhagen talked about substrates mixtures consisting of multiple components.
