Sending in samples for weed test in winter period

Each year during the winter period, there is a different situation concerning the sending in of samples for weed tests. Between 1 November 2024 and 1 February 2025, not all samples can be tested for the RHP quality mark. This is due to the limited light intensity that can affect the analysis results. In practice, it usually concerns peat in case this raw material is (mostly) processed into growing media after 1 February.

For raw materials that are (mostly) processed in growing media after 1 February, we request that you send in the samples for the weed test after this date. In practice, this usually concerns the substrate raw material peat.

In the winter period, it is still possible to send in samples for the weed test in the following situations:

• Samples of raw materials that will be processed directly in growing media during this winter period. It is assumed that the raw materials are tested and assessed under the same conditions as they will be applied in the end product in practice.
• Samples that are sent for orientation.
