The Dutch company Comgoed is RHP Consumer certified with the new raw material: spent substrate. With the certification of Comgoed, RHP welcomes its 75th certified company! Comgoed is also the first company to receive the RHP certificate for ‘spent substrate’.
Based on research and inspections executed by the certification body, the company complies with the requirements as determined in the Product Certification Scheme of the RHP quality mark. With the certification of Comgoed a significant milestone has been reached, with a total of 75 certified companies worldwide that now have joined RHP.
The company Comgoed Substrates BV, based in The Netherlands, was founded in 2022 and is involved, among other activities, in composting plant-based residual streams. QHSE Manager Thijs Fleuren: “We supply our products to the substrate industry, greenhouse horticulture and tree nurseries. RHP certification is a confirmation for us that we consistently manage our process and deliver high-quality compost products that meet the strictest quality standards.”
The raw material ‘spent substrate’ with the RHP quality mark complies with strict requirements to ensure the highest quality. For RHP-certified ‘spent substrate’, a careful selection is applied to determine which streams of strawberry growers are suitable for the sanitation and processing in growing media. Additional requirements are imposed on the composting process under the RHP quality mark to achieve proper sanitation. Due to its many positive properties, RHP-certified ‘spent substrate’ is broadly applicable in RHP Consumer-certified potting soils.
